Meeting of Minister Daniel Mitov with the Ambassador of Vietnam Le Duc Luu

Bulgaria and Vietnam have traditionally good relations of friendship and cooperation and they have progressed significantly towards strategic partnership. Marking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries in 2015 is a milestone in the history of bilateral relations and an affirmation to the longstanding understanding between Bulgarian and Vietnamese people. This statement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Bulgaria H.E. Le Duc Luu on the upcoming completion of his mandate to Bulgaria.
Foreign Minister Mitov thanked Ambassador Le Duc Luu for his contribution to the development of Bulgarian-Vietnamese relations and expressed hope that this trend will continue in the future.
We welcome the increased interaction between the local authorities in Bulgaria and Vietnam, which has emerged as another important aspect of our bilateral relations, said Minister Mitov. The two diplomats also discussed the intensification of the cultural dialogue between the two countries, expressing mutual desire for enrichment and growth of the Bulgarian-Vietnamese exchange on teaching Vietnamese language in Bulgaria and Bulgarian language in Vietnam.
Minister Mitov and Ambassador Le Duc Luu discussed also the current state of trade and economic relations between the two countries and prospects for their deepening in areas of mutual interest. The Vietnamese side expressed interest in promoting investments in Bulgaria and the two diplomats shared the opinion that our country offers a favorable investment environment.
During the meeting, Minister Mitov reaffirmed Bulgaria’s willingness to conduct political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries in Sofia at the level of Deputy Ministers and they expressed mutual readiness for active cooperation in this respect.
For his part, Ambassador Le Duc Luu also expressed his gratitude for the strong support of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during his mandate. I will remain a true friend of Bulgaria and I will continue to work towards deepening and enriching the relations between our two countries, said Ambassador Le Duc Luu.
