Minister Vigenin to participate in the events for the 10th anniversary of the Diplomatic Institute

Kristian Vigenin will open the regional conference on "Challenges of diplomacy today," which will mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event will take place on October 18, from 9.30 am, at the MFA. Among the participants in the conference are heads of diplomatic training institutes from the Balkans and the Black Sea region and of EU leading training structures. The program includes political and expert sessions and open discussions. A special guest speaker will be Jan Petersen, Norwegian Ambassador to Austria, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway (2001-2005).

At 7.00 pm Minister Vigenin will open the official ceremony marking the anniversary, which will be held in the Cinema Hall of the MFA. The guests will be greeted at the ceremonial entrance of the Ministry by a performance of the Guard representative wind orchestra of the National Guards Unit.

Invitation to attend the ceremony is sent to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and his predecessors in office, former foreign ministers, ministers, representatives of the National Assembly, the diplomatic corps, partners from the public administration, NGOs, academics, students and lecturers of DI, etc. On the event, the newly established honor prize of the Diplomatic Institute will be awarded to one Bulgarian and one foreign citizen with a significant contribution to the development and promotion of the Institute as a training center.
