Divided Historical Memory in Today's Bulgaria
 
The presentation interprets the results of the first of a kind survey of historical memory in Bulgaria, conducted by the author. For two years Prof. Kelbecheva traveled around Bulgaria to find out how people from different areas, ethnicity, religion, education and class respond to and choose the most important events, figures and places in history as well as whole periods from antiquity to the recent past.
 
The lecture (about 40 mins) is oriented towards the general public and will be followed by a discussion.
