Terrorism cannot lead to peace in the Middle East

Statement by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Bulgaria rigidly condemns the series of terrorist attacks that took place today, the 22nd of August, 2011 in the Middle East where many innocent people were injured or killed. I hereby express my sincerest condolences to the relatives of those killed and sympathy for their pain and suffering. We believe that violence and terrorism can not bring peace in the Middle East. Such actions do not help the efforts of the international community to bring back the participants in the Middle East Peace Process back to the table for negotiations.
We call on all countries participating in this process to retain sense and refrain from violence in order to reach a lasting and just peace in the region.
