Bulgaria supports the efforts of the Polish Presidency in the field of EU security and defense policy.

“There are many valuable ideas, the implementation of which could push forward the common security and defense policy of the EU”, said minister Mladenov during a working breakfast with the ambassadors of EU member states, dedicated to the Polish Presidency.
The minister spoke in particular about the Weimar initiative, the deepening of the cooperation between the EU and NATO and the future of EU Military Crisis Management operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Minister Mladenov stated, that the programme of the Polish Presidency largely reflects important for Bulgaria priorities. He pointed out, that the next multiannual financial framework should focus on cohesion and agricultural policies, which could lead to real added value.
The ambassadors expressed their strong interest in the Bulgarian positions on Eastern partnership, EU Enlargement, the situation in the Middle East and North Africa. They asked several questions about the recent joint meeting of the Governments of Bulgaria and Israel, as well as the development of the Middle East peace process.
