On the awarding of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize to Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi, Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said:
The decision of the Nobel Committee to award the 2014 peace prize to Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan and Kailash Satyarthi of India serves as a real recognition of civil courage and determination that the two of them proved at the risk of their lives. The example of young Malala and the Indian human rights activist demonstrates the power of the spirit and the pursuit of freedom.
Regardless of religion, race and ethnicity, people have equal and inalienable rights, among which the right to education is of a significant importance. I would like to congratulate the Nobel Committee for its decision.
