01 June 2014 News

On one of the brightest Bulgarian holidays - the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavonic Literature, Bulgaria officially provided additional humanitarian aid for the flood victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aid from the Bulgarian Red Cross was delivered in the town of Pale in the presence of the Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Angelov.

Ambassador Angelov said that the truck carrying vital items has arrived on 24 May - "a spiritual feast that connects states and citizens." He said that the humanitarian mission of the Bulgarian Red Cross carries the symbolic meaning of the date, as it provides both material support and solidarity with the victims.

Aid certificates worth around 30 000 Levs, including cots, blankets, children's socks and sheets, boots, as well as twenty-one tons of mineral water were given to the Red Cross of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Previously  Bulgaria provided humanitarian aid, including tents and blankets, to Brčko- one of the areas most affected by the floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
