Youth participation in national delegations is a prerequisite for the sustainable development of our nation

 "The inclusion of youth representatives in the national delegations of the Republic of Bulgaria is not only an expression of Bulgaria’s commitment to young people, but also a prerequisite for the sustainable development of our nation." With these words, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Angel Velitchkov addressed the Bulgarian youth delegates who will represent our country in the United Nations  in 2014/2015,at the formal ceremony on taking up duty, which was held today at the Ministry.

This program has great potential and it provides opportunities for participation of young people in the decision-making process related to their rights on national and global level, said Deputy Minister Velitchkov. He emphasized that the representatives of Bulgarian youth are a valuable partner in the creation, implementation and monitoring of various policies.

Angel Velitchkov wished the young participants in the program success, strength and inspiration to build on the achievements over the years  and to successfully protect the rights of young people at all levels.

Young people are the future of the Bulgarian reality in terms of international affairs, politics and diplomacy, said Ambassador Ivan Garvalov, President of the UN Association of Bulgaria. He thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the support and the successful cooperation over the years, and wished success to the delegates.

The two winners of the competition who will represent our country in New York in 2014/2015 - Radina Koleva and Ani Koleva,were awarded at the ceremony.  Mila Dimitrova, Irina Ilieva and Etien Yanev are ranked third, fourth and fifth in the competition.
