Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, Krasimira Beshkova, presented her credentials to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe,Thorbjørn Jagland. The official ceremony took place on 17 April 2014.

After the credentials ceremony Krasimira Beshkova and Thorbjørn Jagland discussed current issues on the agenda of the Organization with a focus on the preparation of the 124th session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (Vienna, 5-6 May) , the first report of the Secretary General on the state of democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Europe, the EU's accession to the European Convention on Human Rights and the reform of the European Court of Human Rights.

The Bulgarian Permanent Representative confirmed the readiness of our country to continue to participate actively in the activities of the Organization related to the promotion of the fundamental principles and values ​​of the Council of Europe- human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
