Bulgaria and China maintain traditional friendly relations

Despite the geographical distance and the differences in size, the path of development between Bulgaria and China is based on the traditional friendly relations, said Deputy Foreign Minister Angel Velitchkov at today's ceremony on the validation of a postage stamp dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the People's Republic of China. The ceremony was held in the Foreign Ministry and it was attended by the Deputy Minister of Transport Georgi Todorov, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China H.E.Wei Jinghuaand the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Yanaki Stoilov.

Deputy Minister Velitchkov emphasized that in the past few months we have witnessed an active dialogue at high and highest level between the two countries. An affirmation for this is the planned exchange of delegations at various levels in 2014, which will give further impetus to the development of the bilateral cooperation, said Velitchkov.

"This is the second stamp , which in recent years is dedicated to the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China," said Deputy Minister of Transport Georgi Todorov. He recalled that a special edition on the occasion of the the 60th anniversary of the historic event was validated in 2009.

The relations between the two countries reached a higher level in the last year, said on his part Ambassador Wei Jinghua. According to him, the rich history of the bilateral relations, the sustainable positive dynamics and active exchange of all levels are based on mutual trust, respect and goodwill.

The philatelic edition depicts Madara Horseman rock relief, which is a symbol of the First Bulgarian Empire and the Blue wooden horse , which according to the ancient Chinese calendar is a symbol of the current year. It consists of a block with a postage stamp, illustrated cover and a special postmark. The circulation of the stamp is 17 000 copies and of the envelope - 1567 copies.  Artist of the projects is Emilian Stankev.
