Bulgarian ambassadors to Montenegro and Indonesia underwent hearing by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly

Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing today of the newly appointed ambassadors of the Republic of Bulgaria to Montenegro, Mladen Chervenyakov, and to Indonesia, Sergey Mitchev.

Mladen Chervenyakov presented to the Commission his priorities and the highlights in the relations between Bulgaria and Montenegro. He emphasized that there is a significant potential for the development of the trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Montenegro. Among the priorities of his work as ambassador, he pointed out the intensification of the contacts between the business sector on both sides, the improvement of the transport links, as well as the increase of the cooperation at parliamentary level.

Indonesia is among the leading economies in Asia and there are very good conditions for the development and the intensification of the trade and economic relations between the two countries, said in his introduction Sergey Mitchev. According to him, the potential areas of cooperation are the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, wine and tourism. Bulgaria is an attractive country for the Asian business, a country with stable macroeconomic indicators and favorable tax policy on foreign investments, he added.

As another main priority in his work, Sergey Mitchev identified the  consular activities and the protection of the rights and interests of Bulgarian citizens in the region. He emphasized the importance of cultural dialogue as a prerequisite for the development of the bilateral relations.
