Deputy Minister Angel Velitchkov participates in a ceremony marking the International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Deputy Foreign Minister Angel Velitchkov participated in the official ceremony marking the international memorial day for the victims of the Holocaust, organized by the Sofia Municipality, the Embassy of Israel in Sofia and the Organization of the Jews in Bulgaria "Shalom". Deputy Minister Velitchkov laid flowers in front of the monument of Dimitar Peshev,  a prominent figure with the most significant contribution to the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II and an example for the civil courage of the Bulgarian society.

Ceremony address on the occasion was delivered by the Chairman of the National Assembly Mihail Mikov, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, the Ambassador of the State of Israel, H.E. Shaul Kamisa-Raz,and the President of OJB Shalom,  Maxim Benvenisti. On the occasion of the international memorial day for the victims of the Holocaust, anexhibition titled “Remembering  not to be repeated“  was opened  in front of Dimitar Peshev's Monument in Sofia.
