Kristian Vigenin: Bulgaria fully supports the European integration of Albania

"Our position is clear. We will support the granting of candidate country status to Albania," said Kristian Vigenin during the meeting with the Albanian Ambassador to Sofia Petrit Karabina. The Bulgarian Foreign Minister expressed hope that his forthcoming visit to Tirana will contribute to the further specification of joint actions in the interest of both countries.
Ambassador Karabina informed his host about the efforts made by the new Albanian government to continue reforms in the country in accordance with the terms for European integration of Albania.
Minister Vigenin and Petrit Karabina agreed that the bilateral relations are traditionally good. They emphasized the mutual desire of Bulgaria and Albania for the trade and economic cooperation to be raised to the level of political contacts. Potential opportunities for development, apart of the economy and trade, are available in the energy sector, the infrastructure development, as well as the cultural and educational exchange.
