Deputy Minister Todor Churov met with the State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Deputy Foreign Minister Todor Churov met today with the State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zsolt Németh, who is visiting Bulgaria on the occasion of the provision of emergency humanitarian aid by Hungary to the Syrian refugees in Bulgaria.



Our country is for first time confronted with such a problem and we rely on our partners for support and assistance because the refugee crisis does not only affect Bulgaria and there is a need of joint efforts to deal with it, said Deputy Minister Churov. Zsolt Németh emphasized that Hungary is content with the opportunity to express solidarity with Bulgaria and provide assistance in such difficult times.



Deputy Minister Churov and State Secretary of the Hungarian MFA discussed also the current state of bilateral relations and the opportunities for strengthening cooperation based on the common foreign policy priorities of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, energy, tourism and the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries. Zsolt Németh reaffirmed the willingness of Hungary to provide expert assistance to Bulgaria in the preparation of the Bulgarian EU Presidency in 2018.
