11 September 2013 News

Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin will chair the regular meeting of the Interagency Council on the participation of the Republic of Bulgaria in NATO and in the  common security and defense policy of the EU, which will be held on September 12, 2013.

The meeting will review the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting of the Council that was held in May this year and will discuss issues related to Bulgaria's participation in the NATO mission in Afghanistan after 2014. It will focus also on the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the country's membership in the Alliance. In addition, the meeting aims at identifying measures to coordinate our position on important issues for Bulgaria from the NATO agenda.

The upcoming meeting tomorrow demonstrates continuity with the participation of Bulgaria in the activities of NATO and the Common Security and Defence Policy and provides the necessary interagency cooperation in the formulation of the Bulgarian policies in this area.
