Bulgaria supports Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path of reforms

“The main focus of Bulgaria's foreign policy is its relationship with the countries of Southeast Europe. Our country is ready to share experience as well as to work with other EU member states for the development, progress and prosperity of the region and its European perspective,” Kristian Vigenin said at ameeting with the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Srpska, Igor Radojicic, whois on a visit to Bulgaria.

“Bulgaria supports the efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina towardsEuropean integration, but concrete results are essential. We expect the country's authorities at all levels to show the political will to achieve consensus and resolve issues on the European agenda,” Minister Vigeninsaid.

Igor Radojicic emphasised the actions being taken by theRepublika Srpska towards the European integration of the country and its desire for progressthat is genuine and that takes place as soon as possible. He emphasisedthe importance of implementing the necessary constitutional changes and the development of the so-called “Co-ordinating Mechanism”.

Kristian Vigenin and Igor Radojicic agreed on theimportance of active regional co-operation and the need to strengthen economic relations. "The more we co-operate and show understanding in regard to the needs for reforms, the easier it will achieve the goals that we set - progress in the European integration of the region, strengthening stability and creating conditions for attracting investments," the Bulgarian Foreign Ministersaid.

He emphasised the need to intensify economic relations between the two countries, which, he said, have a large, untapped capacity. “Such a step, especially in times of economic crisis, is beneficial both for Bulgaria and for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Minister Vigeninsaid. Toovercome the economic crisis, co-operation within our region is very important, the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Srpskasaid, and emphasisedthe importance of signing the Agreement on Economic Cooperation in this regard.
