18 June 2026 News

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with H.E. Tsovinar Hambardzumyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Bulgaria.

The meeting focused on prospects for further developing and deepening bilateral relations in priority areas of mutual interest in the context of the Strategic Partnership established between Bulgaria and Armenia in May 2026, as well as the deepening cooperation between Armenia and the European Union.

Deputy Minister Tasheva congratulated the Armenian side on the successful organisation and conduct of the parliamentary elections held on 7 June 2026, as well as on the excellent hosting of the European Political Community Summit and the first European Union – Armenia Summit, held in Yerevan on 4 and 5 May 2026.

During the discussions, it was noted that Bulgaria highly values Armenia's consistent commitment to European values and the implementation of democratic reforms, despite the challenging security environment and the complex regional and geopolitical context. The Bulgarian side reaffirmed its readiness to continue sharing its experience and expertise in support of Armenia’s European path.
