Minister Georg Georgiev Meets with UNWTO Secretary-General

Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev received today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zurab Pololikashvili, and his delegation.
The two sides discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation between Bulgaria and the Organization. The Bulgarian Foreign Minister emphasized that Bulgaria actively participates in UNWTO's activities, including as a member of the Executive Council with a mandate until the end of 2027, and stressed that our country shares the Organization's vision for promoting competitive and sustainable tourism policies. Minister Georgiev recalled that our country has hosted a number of prestigious events in cooperation with the Organization.
UNWTO is the most significant and influential international organization in the field of tourism, of which Bulgaria has been a member since 1976.
