Minister Georgiev Awards the Ambassador of Indonesia with the "Golden Laurel Branch"

Minister Georg Georgiev received the Ambassador of Indonesia to Bulgaria, H.E. Iwan Bogananta, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today and awarded him the highest distinction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – the "Golden Laurel Branch" – on the occasion of the conclusion of his mandate and in recognition of his contributions his contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
Ambassador Iwan Bogananta has held the post since January 2021. With his active support over the past four years, the development of high-level political dialogue between Bulgaria and Indonesia has continued through meetings between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and between the Parliaments of the two countries. In his speech at the award ceremony, Minister Georgiev emphasized that during Ambassador Bogananta's term, trade and economic exchange remained active, new partnerships were established between business representatives from the two countries, and cooperation in the areas of culture, education, and people-to-people contacts continued to expand.
Indonesia is an important partner of our country in the dynamic region of Southeast Asia. Bilateral relations are long-standing and friendly – in 2021, we marked the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
