Bilateral meetings of Minister Georg Georgiev in Brussels

During his working visit to Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, held consecutive bilateral meetings with the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa'ar, and with the Czech top diplomat, Jan Lipavsky.
"Bulgaria is in solidarity and supports the Israeli people after the barbaric attack of 7 October 2023. We hope that the ceasefire agreements with Hamas and Hezbollah will be steps towards stabilising the situation in the region and preventing violence," said Minister Georgiev. The two ministers positively assessed the development of bilateral relations and outlined opportunities for their deepening in various areas of mutual interest.
With his Czech counterpart, Minister Georgiev discussed the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine and the need to continue support for Kyiv. They focused on cooperation in the EU on the implementation of sanctions against Russia and, more specifically, the prevention of their circumvention. They also discussed the common interests of the two countries in the field of energy cooperation.
