Bulgarian Foreign Minister held bilateral meetings today in Brussels

In the framework of his first participation in the Foreign Affairs Council, Minister Georg Georgiev met Commissioner for Enlargement Policy Marta Kos. They discussed the process of European integration of the Western Balkan countries, Ukraine and Moldova. ‘Bulgaria has a consistent policy in support of the European integration of all candidate countries in strict application of the principle of own merits and implementation of the agreements reached so far’, the Bulgarian foreign minister said. Only on the basis of real results and progress can trust be built between the candidate countries and the EU, which is key for the success of the integration process, he added.
During the Foreign Affairs Council meeting, the Bulgarian Foreign Minister also held talks with the High Representative Kaja Kallas and the Foreign Ministers of Romania and Italy, with whom he discussed the current topics on the Council's agenda.
