Meeting of Deputy Minister Ivan Kondov with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Bulgaria Hussein Huseynov

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Hussein Huseynov.
The two diplomats discussed the upward development of the relations between the two countries, elevated to the level of strategic partnership, the expression of which is the Joint Declaration on Strengthening the Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed on May 8, 2024 in Baku during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev at the invitation of the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev.
The talks confirmed the mutual interest in implementing projects in priority areas of cooperation such as energy and connectivity between Europe and Asia in its various dimensions. The positive dynamics in the economic relations, established at the Sixth Meeting of the Bulgarian-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, held on 1 July 2024 in Baku, was confirmed.
During the meeting, other issues related to the international security environment, the process of settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the role of the European Union and EU Member States in supporting confidence building between the two countries were also discussed.
