On 8 August 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ivan Kondov met with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Bulgaria Her Excellency Ms Irene Maria Planck.
The two sides praised our bilateral relations and stressed the importance of continuing fruitful cooperation in various regional and international formats.
Bulgaria's participation in the Berlin Process and the upcoming high-level and top-level meetings on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Initiative were discussed. Ambassador Planck presented an invitation to participate in the Process Foreign Ministers' Meeting to be held on 1 October 2024 in Berlin. Deputy Minister Ivan Kondov expressed gratitude to the German side for the consistent support to Bulgaria's foreign policy priorities and the active political dialogue at all levels.
During the meeting issues related to the Schengen area were also discussed, as well as the upcoming early parliamentary elections.
Both sides agreed on the desire to strengthen bilateral dialogue and deepen interaction in all areas of mutual interest.
