Position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria in support of the Joint Statement of the USA, Egypt and Qatar on a ceasefire in the Middle East and the release of the hostages

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria expresses its full support for the Joint Statement from the Leaders of the United States, Egypt, and Qatar on a ceasefire in the Middle East and the release of the hostages. We welcome the mediation efforts aimed at ending the violence and encourage the parties to quickly come to an agreement and fully implement the proposed deal, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2735 and the US President Joe Biden's May 31, 2024 Peace Plan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria reiterates its position that reaching an agreement would contribute to the overall efforts for de-escalation in the Middle East and for alleviating the humanitarian situation.
