During the talks, the two diplomats underlined the long-standing fruitful cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and within the EU and NATO.
In the course of the talks the EU priorities for the next institutional cycle were discussed, among which were highlighted improving competitiveness and strengthening the single market, security and defence, energy security, migration, EU enlargement.
Deputy Minister Kondov underlined the priority for Bulgaria to abolish controls at the Schengen land borders. Concern was expressed about developments in the Republic of Northern Macedonia and the need for the country to implement the 2022 European Consensus.
