On 25 April, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Anguelieva received copies of the credentials of H.E. Mutaz Abdul Rahman Taha Al-Khasawneh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, based in Bucharest.

Deputy Minister Anguelieva discussed with Ambassador Khasawneh the good level of political dialogue in the context of the visit of the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs to Jordan in February this year, and the opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation and increasing trade and economic exchanges between the two countries. She highlighted the forthcoming celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Jordan as an occasion to expand and build on the traditional and friendly relations between the two countries. In this context, she noted with satisfaction the accepted invitation of King Abdullah II to visit Bulgaria this year.

They also discussed the current developments in the Middle East region, focusing on the grave humanitarian dimensions of the situation in Gaza and the need to alleviate it, as well as the immediate and unconditional release of the hostages held by Hamas.
