Trafficking in Human Beings is a crime that affects millions of people around the world, without distinction of age, gender, origin, nationality. Combating it is a complex endeavour, requiring collective efforts and cooperation between national institutions, international monitoring structures, academia and the non-governmental sector.

The conference is a kind of call for dialogue between all stakeholders at national and international level to identify the challenges and prospects in developing a strategic vision for Bulgaria in the fight against trafficking in human beings. It is an invitation to the participants to outline good practices, to point out necessary measures and to look for sustainable solutions for effective prevention and counteraction of this crime.

The event will be attended by representatives of Bulgarian institutions, politicians, public figures, representatives of international monitoring organizations, academia and NGOs.

The official part of the conference will be open to the media until the first working panel.  Those wishing to cover the event can accredit themselves until 12 p.m. on 25 January 2024 by emailing [email protected], Strategic Communications and Public Diplomacy Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Registration for the event is on 26 January at 9.30 a.m.
