Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel launched the ‘Travel Informed’ mobile app

The new mobile application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ‘Travel Informed’ was presented today to ministers, diplomats and media at an event held in John Atanasoff Hall in Sofia Tech Park. ‘We show that with data, resources and team spirit we are making Bulgaria position itself in the field of innovation, and I want to congratulate especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Bulgaria today on the map of Europe is the only country that has a mobile application for informed travel with a chatbot,’ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel, who opened the event, said in her address to the guests.
Mariya Gabriel stressed that the app will help every Bulgarian citizen and that feedback and contact with the crisis response teams will be of great importance.
The Travel Informed mobile app is a project of the Situation Centre Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014—2021. It will help Bulgarian citizens travelling abroad to be better informed and to travel confidently anywhere in the world. The mobile application also provides quick access to the employees of the Situation Centre in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to the overseas representations of the Republic of Bulgaria around the world.
‘Travel Informed’ is compatible with Android and iOS systems and provides accessible and free information to all users. The SOS-button allows any Bulgarian citizen in a disaster situation abroad to be quickly located and assisted in a timely manner.
During the event, guests had the opportunity to participate in a virtual reality travel simulation abroad and understand the practical benefits that the mobile app provides.
