Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel will be on a working visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel will undertake a working visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Her agenda will start with meetings with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and European Commission Vice-President for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Šuica. Discussions will also take place with European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders and Commissioner for Health Stella Kyriakides.

The visit will also include meetings with Cristian Buşoi, Chair of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), and Sabine Verheyen, Chair of the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT).

The Deputy Prime Minister will attend the plenary debate ‘This is Europe’, in which the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Acad. Nikolay Denkov. This is a series of plenary debates in which the leaders of the EU member states discuss solutions to the challenges facing the Union.

Nikolay Denkov and Mariya Gabriel will meet with the delegation of Bulgarian members of the European Parliament. There will also be discussions with the co-chairs of the Greens/European Free Alliance group, Terry Reintke and Philippe Lamberts, and with the chair of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, Iratxe García Pérez.

During his visit to Strasbourg, the Deputy Prime Minister will meet with the Group of the European People's Party in the European Parliament. She will present the government's progress in implementing the priorities of the government's programme, among which is Bulgaria's membership in Schengen, the euro area and the OECD.
