On 21 November 2023, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Principality of Andorra to Bulgaria, Gemma Cano Berne, presented copies of the credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elena Shekerletova. During the meeting the good cooperation between Bulgaria and Andorra was noted, both in bilateral relations and within the international organizations. Opportunities for intensifying trade and economic ties were discussed with a focus on tourism. Ambassador Berne presented a dossier on Andorra's bid to host the Alpine Skiing World Cup in 2029. The Bulgarian side confirmed its support for Andorra's efforts for closer cooperation and enhanced integration with the European Union. The conclusion of an Association Agreement with the EU will further regulate Andorra's participation in the EU Internal Market and will be an incentive to deepen the bilateral partnership.
