A successful flight from Tel Aviv with 96 people on board was made tonight by a government Airbus plane

14 October 2023 News

96 people, most of them with Bulgarian citizenship, and some with Israeli citizenship - family members, landed successfully in Sofia around 1 pm on October 14th on a government Airbus flight from Tel Aviv.

At the airport, as on the previous 3 flights, the arrivals were welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Gabriel.

"Bulgaria was the first country to help the Bulgarians in need of help to return home. We are guided by two things- the care for our compatriots and coordinated actions", the Deputy Prime Minister said hours earlier in the National Assembly.

Maria Gabriel and the Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeikov gave a joint statement and underlined that they are working in full coordination of their actions. "We have said from day one that the government plane will make flights as long as possible and as long as our countrymen need it," Maria Gabriel was cagey.

We would like to remind you that the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tel Aviv has two emergency telephones, which citizens can contact around the clock.
