Today we celebrate the World Day Against Human Trafficking - July 30.

Human trafficking is a serious crime against personality, personal freedom and human dignity that transcends national borders and requires serious efforts by the entire international community to effectively counter it.

The Republic of Bulgaria is among the leading countries in the fight against human trafficking. Our country has a fully developed and effectively working legal and institutional framework for preventing and punishing the crime of human trafficking, as well as for the protection of victims.

The Republic of Bulgaria is a party to all major international agreements in the field of combating human trafficking and actively cooperates in this field with any interested country or international organization.

The national system of the Republic of Bulgaria for combating human trafficking continues to work effectively despite the challenges that the numerous international crises pose to our country.

The Republic of Bulgaria will continue to firmly oppose human trafficking, guaranteeing human rights, protecting victims, effectively punishing criminals and contributing to the stability of its partners and allies.
