08 July 2022 News

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova opened the exhibition “Bulgarian monuments under UNESCO protection”, located in the Ethnographic Museum in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

In the year in which we celebrate the 75th anniversary of UNESCO, it is an honour for me to present some of the most valuable UNESCO sites in Bulgaria, in Dubrovnik – a city that is itself on the list of protected world historical and cultural heritage - naming some Bulgarian monuments, including the Thracian tombs in Kazanlak and Sveshtari, the Madara Horseman, the Boyana church, Nesebar, the Ivanovo Rock-Hewn Churches and the Rila monastery, Deputy Minister Petrova said.

The opening of the exhibition was also attended by the Secretary of State of the Republic of Croatia, Frano Matušić, representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Croatia, the Dubrovnik-Neretva Region, a number of important cultural institutions in Dubrovnik, as well as the diplomatic corps.

Deputy Minister Petrova is visiting Croatia to take part in the Dubrovnik Forum, which takes place on 8-9 July 2022.
