Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska received the Ambassador of Switzerland to Bulgaria Raymund Furrer. Among the topics discussed were the development of bilateral and international relations.
Minister Genchovska described the cooperation between the two countries as excellent. She stressed that Switzerland is one of the EU’s key partners and highly appreciated the contribution of the country in all areas of mutual interest.
The opportunities for deepening the bilateral relations in a number of areas, including the economy, agriculture and digitization were highlighted. The newly established Institute of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology in Sofia was singled out as a successful example of the good partnership in the field of science.
Among the topics discussed were also the consequences of the Russian aggression in Ukraine, dealing with the refugee flow, as well as the need for preparation and joint actions in the recovery from the conflict. Our Foreign Minister stressed the need to strengthen the existing cooperation in the field of defence and security, as well as to build adequate capabilities in this area.
