Minister Genchovska met with King Felipe VI of Spain and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez

King Felipe VI of Spain received minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska at an audience at the Zarzuela Palace. Our first diplomat is in Madrid as part of the official Bulgarian delegation led by President Rumen Radev. Among the topics discussed at the meeting were the cooperation in the field of joint building of defence capabilities, as well as the expansion of the bilateral economic relations in biotechnology, agriculture and tourism.
Earlier today, Minister Genchovska held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez. The two sides discussed trade and economic relations, cooperation in the field of education, science and innovation, and topical issues on the agenda of the European Union.
During his visit to Spain, the Bulgarian Foreign Minister also held talks with the President of the Congress of Deputies Meritxell Batet. Prospective areas of the bilateral partnership were highlighted, including mutual investments in high technologies.
During her visit to the country, Minister Genchovska also made a speech at the opening of the Bulgaria – Spain Business Forum on the topic “Investment and Trade Opportunities that Bulgaria Offers”.
