Deputy Minister Dimitrova met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Irena Dimitrova met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey Faruk Kaymakci. In the course of the talks, they discussed the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, aspects in the field of security and opportunities for intensifying the bilateral cooperation.
Deputy Minister Dimitrova stressed that Bulgaria highly values its relations with Turkey, which has always been an important neighbour and strategic ally. She expressed readiness to intensify the political dialogue and realise the full potential in all areas of mutual interest.
Deputy Minister Kaymakci, who was in Sofia to participate in the “EU Meets the Balkans” forum, expressed his desire to build on the bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, including security and defence.
