The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova received the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bulgaria Khalid bin Kamal Fakih.
The two sides discussed opportunities to strenghten political dialogue, co-operation in the field of security, the fight against terrorism, as well as the development of economic, tourism and investment relations.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of Bulgaria's most important partners in the Middle East. We are convinced that the intensive political dialogue will bring benefits for expanding economic ties and increasing the volume of trade between our countries, as there is a lot of untapped potential in this regard, said Deputy Minister Petrova.
In the context of the "Vision 2030" of the Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the development and modernization of Saudi Arabia, the possibility of Bulgarian companies to contribute to the implementation of this project was discussed.
Among the highlights of the conversation were issues related to the ongoing Hutu attacks on the territory of Saudi Arabia, visa policy and cooperation between the two countries within international organizations.
