Celebrating Human Rights Day

10 December 2021 News

On 10 December, we celebrate Human Rights Day, the date on which the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted in 1948. This year, the celebration is marked by the topic of equality.

The Universal Declaration emphasizes that all people are born free and equal in dignity and rights. The Republic of Bulgaria consistently adheres to this understanding, which is why it is a party to all major international human rights instruments. Our country is also a full and active participant in the leading international organizations in this field.

By adopting and applying the highest standards in the field of human rights, the Republic of Bulgaria contributes to building a better future for its citizens, as well as to peace, stability and prosperity internationally.

In the name of these noble goals, Bulgarian foreign policy will continue to keep the topic of human rights in the focus of its attention.
