Greece has stopped conducting rapid antigen tests for all drivers

01 March 2021 News

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece has informed us that the practice of rapid antigen tests for all truck drivers at the Kulata-Promahon border checkpoint has been terminated, and from today testing will again be carried out only on a random basis.

On February 27, 2021, on the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva, our Ambassador to Greece Valentin Poryazov urgently asked the Greek authorities regarding the measure, which created inconvenience for truck drivers and contradicted EU regulations.

After the talks, the Greek side assured us that the measure for rapid coronavirus tests for all truck drivers will not be applied at the Kulata-Promahon border checkpoint.
