Bulgaria opens honorary consulate in Turku, Finland

In a formal ceremony on May 7, 2019, Bulgaria opened today its honorary consulate in the Finnish city of Turku, which is to have consular jurisdiction over the provinces of Varsinais-Suomi and Satakunta.
The newly elected honorary consul Ms. Ieva Salmela expressed her gratitude for the high honor and committed herself to actively contribute towards strengthening Finland’s economic and cultural ties with Bulgaria.
The event was honored with the presence of members of the municipal authorities in Turku, officers of the local police force, honorary consuls of other countries, members of the Finnish-Bulgarian friendship society and Bulgarian nationals residing in Turku, Pori and other populated areas within the consular jurisdiction.
