Ambassador Maya Dobreva presented the priorities of the Bulgarian presidency to Mr. Didier Reynders, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium

The priorities of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the EU were presented by this country’s Ambassador to Belgium Ms. Maya Dobreva at a working lunch in Brussels, attended by the Ambassadors of the EU Member States and of the candidate countries. Mr. Didier Reynders, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, was a guest of the meeting, held on 12 February.
In her opening address Ambassador Dobreva outlined the priorities of the Bulgarian presidency, emphasizing the ambition to seek consensus and maintain unity. She noted that this was the first instance when Bulgaria assumed the Presidency of the EU and it desired to fulfil this task in the best possible way. Minister Reynders wished every success to the Bulgarian presidency and expressed the hope that it would be possible to reach balances solutions, taking into account the interests of different Member States.
In the conversation with the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs the topics related to Brexit, the future of the EU, migration, the European perspective of the Western Balkans and the relations with Russia were discussed.
