Deputy Minister Georgiev unveiled the Sixth Seminar on the training of representatives of the state administration in Afghanistan

“Bulgaria attaches high importance to its traditionally good relations with Afghanistan and follows carefully the process of the country’s recovery and development. Its stability and prosperity are of key importance both for the regional and international security. We can cope with the challenges of our time only through correctly addressed joint actions and challenges.” This is what Deputy Minister Georg Georgiev said at the opening of the Sixth Seminar on the training of representatives of the state administration in Afghanistan organized by the Diplomatic Institute with the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Georg Georgiev told the participants in the seminar that the topics within the programme have been selected so that they would get familiarized with the world processes and gather practical experience in the sphere of multilateral and bilateral diplomacy.
The training will be focused on human rights, the supremacy of the law, security, migration and the effect of the migration processes on the economy of the affected countries, the role of international organisations in the peace-keeping and peace-building missions, the strategy of countering radicalisation and terrorism, the holding of democratic elections, the information policy and the freedom of the media, the diplomatic protocol, etc.
The seminar is being held in the 6-17 November 2017 period. Participating are 10 young diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.
The training is held within a project “Enhancing the qualification of the representatives of the public administration of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” within the Cooperation for Development Programme.
