A career start for 35 young professionals at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

27 January 2012 News

Thirty-five young professionals are already working through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs programme “Career Start” 2011/12, which within the next nine months will enable them to acquire their first professional experience in the corridors of Bulgarian diplomacy.

The ministry has taken part in the programme since it was set up in 2005, and over that time interest in the programme among young people has grown, from just four then to the current 35.

“Our policy is aimed at opening the doors of the ministry to young people and I am glad that you will infuse new strength, creative spirit, fresh and valuable ideas in the public administration,” Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov told new employees at a meeting today.

Part of this policy, which is aimed at promoting the conditions for career development of young and competent professionals, is the Foreign Ministry;s decision to hold an annual competition to recruit trainee attaches.
