The session will take place on 25 September 2023 in Washington. The Bulgarian delegation includes Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Slavov — Minister for Justice, Rumen Radev — Minister for Energy, Milena Stoycheva — Minister for Innovation and Growth, as well as the Deputy Ministers — Dr. Georgi Angelov — for Innovation and Growth, Atanas Zapryanov — for Defence and Ivelina Dundakova — for Interior.
Within the framework of the dialogue, it is envisaged to discuss the following areas: common approaches to regional and global problems, deepening defence and security cooperation, expanding economic and energy cooperation, defending democracy and the rule of law, expanding bilateral ties.
At the end of the session, Deputy Prime Minister Gabriel will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Bulgaria and the United States for countering foreign manipulation of information.
Mariya Gabriel will also hold a meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian community in Washington.
The High-Level Strategic Dialogue between the Republic of Bulgaria and the United States is a forum for consultation and cooperation on global, regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest. It was launched on 8 January 2020 between the governments of the Republic of Bulgaria and the United States of America.
