07 Февруари 2020 Новини

A NATO Force Integration Unit Briefing for Allied Ambassadors and Defence Attaché’s of the NATO countries, accredited to Estonia, was held in Tallinn on February 4th 2020. The event comprised a welcome speech by the commander of NFIU Estonia Col. Mart Vendla, a presentation (delivered by Wg Cdr Mark Attrill) for introducing the larger context, NATO's mission and the way forward, as well as a discussion with Q&A.

The Integration Unit, established in 2015, falls under the primary responsibility of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe. As part of the NATO's adaptation to the East and South security challenges, the Unit has the main task of facilitating the rapid deployment of a Very High Readiness Joint Task Force and other elements of the NATO Response Force. The structure in Estonia is one of the 6 first-wave units together with those established in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania. The briefing, in which Mr. Milen Dimitrov, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Helsinki, participated, was widely attended by Ambassadors and Deputy Heads of Missions and Defence Attaché’s, accredited to Estonia.
