Information for Bulgarian citizens in connection with the road situation in Greece as of February 11 2013

In connection with the protests planned by Greek farmers, it is expected that there will be daily blockades of the national road network. The planned blockades will be held every day from 2pm to 3pm on the Thessaloniki – Athens highway and on the national road network in northern Greece – the Egnatia motorway, for now only by people, without the use of agricultural machinery.

Advice to Bulgarian citizens travelling and residing in Libya

Given the upcoming celebrations in Libya of the second anniversary of the revolution against the regime of Muammar Gaddafi, the Foreign Ministry advises Bulgarian citizens residing in Libya during the period of the celebrations – from February 14 to 18 2013 – to be especially cautious, to refrain from travelling in the country and to not participate in large-scale public events.

Advice to Bulgarian citizens travelling and living in Egypt

In regard to the state of emergency announced on January 27 2013 by Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and the critical situations in Port Said, Suez and Ismailia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Bulgarian citizens to refrain from travelling to these cities. Bulgarians resident there should obey the curfew in force from 9pm to 6am and should comply strictly with the orders of the local security forces.

It is inadvisable to visit the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces of the Republic of South Africa and southern regions of the Republic of Mozambique

Because of the severe flooding in the provinces of Mpumalanga and Limpopo in the Republic of South Africa and the southern regions of the Republic of Mozambique, where lives have been lost and the authorities have launched large-scale rescue operations to assist those affected, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel to these regions.
