Advice to Bulgarian citizens travelling and residing in Libya

25 January 2013

In connection with the increasingly dynamic complex situation in Libya in recent days, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly warns Bulgarian citizens against visiting Libya, unless in cases of extreme necessity. You must absolutely avoid travelling in the eastern and southern parts of the country and in desert areas. Visiting Benghazi, where the situation is extremely dangerous, is completely out of the question. Bulgarians resident in these areas should keep in contact with the Embassy in Tripoli and, if necessary, seek assistance.
