In regard to the state of emergency announced on January 27 2013 by Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and the critical situations in Port Said, Suez and Ismailia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Bulgarian citizens to refrain from travelling to these cities. Bulgarians resident there should obey the curfew in force from 9pm to 6am and should comply strictly with the orders of the local security forces.
Because of the severe flooding in the provinces of Mpumalanga and Limpopo in the Republic of South Africa and the southern regions of the Republic of Mozambique, where lives have been lost and the authorities have launched large-scale rescue operations to assist those affected, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel to these regions.
In connection with the increasingly dynamic complex situation in Libya in recent days, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly warns Bulgarian citizens against visiting Libya, unless in cases of extreme necessity.
On December 5 at about 6.15pm, about 45 miles from Rotterdam, two ships – the Baltic Ace and the Corvus J – collided in the North Sea. As a result of the collision, the Baltic Ace sank.
