Information regarding the upcoming nationwide strike in India
19 February 2013On February 20 and 21 2013, a nationwide strike is being held in India, organised by 11 national Indian trade unions. The protest is against, among other things, increasing inflation, sharply rising prices of fuel and rail transport, and unemployment. The strike is expected to cover most Indian states and to affect public transport, the banking sector, fuel deliveries and other matters.
In connection with the planned strike, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Bulgarian citizens in India exercise caution in the coming days and avoid places where mass protests are being held.
