Travel Advice on Tunisia

27 May 2011

The situation in the country is unstable. Condition on border with Libya and Algeria is exceptionally unsafe. In the coast areas and the capital Tunis all is gradually returning to normal. Curfew has been lifted, however, there is a chance it would be imposed again.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that all Bulgarian citizens avoid travelling to the capital Tunis and to coast areas.

We advise that travels to the South and Central parts of the country be avoided, unless absolutely necessary.

MFA recommends to Bulgarian citizens residing or traveling to the Tunisian Republic to restrain from mass gatherings and demonstrations, and to follow the instructions of local authorities.
